Ron McGehee is the world's funniest "Half Korean, Half Irish" comedian, yep a dime a dozen. Born in Flint, Michigan and later raised in Orange, CA after his family succumbed to the "Great Liquor Store Rush" of the early 80's. He's headlined at such venues as the World Famous Improvs and The Comedy Store, has appeared on Funny Farm TV and was a premier performer honored on KNBC Channel 4 News in Los Angeles for Asian-American History Month.
McGehee was a finalist in the NBC Laugh Factory Latino/Asian-American Comedy Showcase and in the 2002 Orange County's Funniest Person Contest where he went on to win in 2003. McGehee has also appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing 2 as a finalist. He recently filmed a commercial for the international transportation company DHL that is airing nationally.
McGehee has made guest television appearances including, The Joni Lamb Show on DayStar, JCTV, NBC, ABC Family, Si TV, Comedy Central, TBN and TLN promoting his innovative Clean Comedy. He's done warm up comedy for Comedy Central and Carlos Oscar's Comedy Central special that is released on Time Warner Video and in stores nationally. McGehee has confirmed an unnamed comedy pilot with CBS producers to write as well as appear on the show. He has also written for The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn, The Carson Daily Show, Jimmy Kimmel, Spec scripts for Scrubs and My Name Is Earl. He wrote an original feature treatment, comedy, Valhallapalooza, feature first draft comedy Whitewashed, original feature treatment drama ThePathFinder, and original animated series treatment The Adventures of Cap'N'Cuinno and Express-O-Lad. McGehee and wife comedienne Kerri Pomarolli appeared on the Oxygen Network's hit reality show, Tori and Dean: Inn Love.
McGehee starred and co-produced a pilot, along with Eastgate Productions. The pilot, www.ilovekerri.tv, demonstrates both McGehee and Pomarolli's comedic ability to interact as they take on the task of home improvement. As you will see, their complete lack of skills is down right comical. I Love Kerri premiered on Sky Angel Two June 23, 2007.
Along with furthering his comedy, writing and acting career he has produced The Family Comedy Countdown, a national syndicated radio program. He is also producing his own clean comedy Non Toxic Comedy show at top venues throughout the United States.

He is a favorite at national camps and festivals in the youth market such as Spirit West Coast, Life Fest and Knott's Berry Farm and Youth Specialties Convention. Community & Family Values
The Continental Comedy Club is proud of many things. It has been the home of legendary musicians, it has been a place the community could use for meetings, and gatherings, and now it is becoming an all ages comedy club for the whole family to enjoy.
In today's world of television programs filled with watching other people live destructive lives, and movies either made for children or adults, there is very liitle we can do as a family. That is why, the Continental Comedy Club will feature Christian and Clean comedians on the weekends. A place where youth, parents, and even grandparents can enjoy the same show, laugh just as hard, and have something to talk about later on. A place where a family can enjoy be entertained together like a family.
Pharaoh's Scholarship Fund
As a company philosphy, we need to show our appreciation to the community for its support. That is why 10% of our ticket sales go into a scholarship fund. For every $1,000 in the fund, we will give a scholarship to a deserving youth from Oakland or the surrounding community. To help our youth further their education, and their possibilities is extremely important to us.
Tithes Program
The Tithes program is something that has also been installed to assist the churches in the area. It is also a very understandable concept, and there is donation given out after every show. The donation is equal to 10% of the ticket gross.
The way it works is simple. We give each ticket holder a raffle ticket. After the show is over, we draw one of the tickets. The holder of the ticket tells us which church will receive the Tithes. We will let the church know which person choose them as well.
Community Meetings
We know there are often small community groups. Too large to meet in a home, and to small to pay a huge rental fee. As long as it does not conflict with an on-going event, we will rent your our facilities for a low price. Just contact us with a date in mind. Please also let us know if you are looking for this to be a one-time meeting or an ongoing meeting.
Rehearsal Space
If you are looking for a place to rehearse, let us know. We have a large dance floor, as well as large stage. The acoustics in the building are also quite nice. Are prices are reasonable, and hours are flexible.
History
The Continental Club started off in 1945 as Christy's Grill. By day, it was a small eatery, and then at night, it became the place to be. As an after hours spot, it was known as Rumboogie, which eventually became its name. Rumboogie, the stories are still being told today.
Rumboogie was a place where you could drink, listen to the latest music, and listen to the stars themselves. The place had go-go dancers, blues, jazz, and R&B. People would come from all over the Bay Area to party at Rumboogie. The greatest part, you never knew who you were going to see.
The Continental Club
Due to the popularity of Rumboogie, the had to expand. Since they owned the property on both sides of Rumboogie, they gutted one of the apartment buildings, and made it into a grand club. A huge stage, large dance floor, and a balcony. On Decemeber 31, 1961, the Continental Club was opened, and the people rejoiced.
For years, the Continental Club was known as the Motown of the West. With performers like Jackie Wilson, Marvin Gaye, Tammy Terrell, Ike & Tina Turner, B.B. King, Jimmie Hendrix, The Temptations, and many more, you wanted to be at the Continental. Even today, somebody will come in with a story about watching Otis Redding on stage, and then speaking or dancing with him later that night. Oh, the memories are great.
Events
After many years of being the great club in West Oakland, and with other clubs opening up around the area, the Continental Club became a facility known for its special events. One of those grea events was the Queen's Ball. For years, people would come down to West Oakland, just to get a look at the glam that was the biggest LBGT event of the year. Not just in California, but it was internationally known.
According to just about everybody, the "Queens" were dressed so impressively, and looked so much like a woman, you couldn't tell which ones were actually women. People's eyes, nearly popped out their heads, when they would see some of them. The streets were lined with onlookers as they pulled up in limos, and had on magnificent dresses, and were adorned to the T.
Hall
As time went on, the club started seeing less and less parties, and became a rental hall where you could have your wedding reception, birthday party, repass, or community meeting. It was used by all, the old and the young. Artist and bands would showcase their work here, or have a record release party. There has still been some impressive events, but now, it's time for the comedy.
Comedy
They say laughter is the best medicine. Well, in these tough times, we need all the laughter we can get. We believe that laughter can also be a great way for families to bond. So, we have brought to the Bay Area a family orieneted, all ages, Christian and Clean comedy club.
It will be a place that doesn't cost and arm and a leg. A place where the whole family can come together, generations can laugh together, and for at least a couple of hours, take their mind off of the rest of their problems. We hope that we will also inspire young comedians to choose a more family oriented path to comedy.
There is no alcohol sold at these shows either. We have snacks, sodas, juices, and water, but we will not see anybody getting intoxicated at the show. We are going to maintain a family atmosphere at the comedy shows.
We also would like to know who you want to see. Have a favorite comedian that you have never seen live. Did you see a comedian somewhere else, and you can't wait to see them again? Let us know, and if a comedian gets enough push, we will do our best to make it happen. Please understand, that not all comedians perform at comedy clubs anymore.
